The second General Dynamics YF-16 Fighting Falcon 72-1568 was displayed at the Edwards Air Force Base open house on November 16, 1975.
YF-16 72-1568 is now used as an Air Force recruiting tool.
The first YF-16A 75-0745 performed at the Edwards AFB open house on November 13, 1977.

The fourth YF-16A 75-0748 was displayed at Edwards AFB on November 13, 1977. It was painted overall gray with a black radome.
YF-16A 75-0478 is now displayed at the Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.
The fifth YF-16A 75-0749 was modified with a stretched fuselage and a cranked-arrow delta wing and designated F-16XL/A. It was displayed at Edwards AFB on October 23, 1982.
F-16XL/A 75-0749 was later transferred to NASA as 849.

The sixth YF-16A 75-0750 was modified with ventral canard control surfaces and served as a Control Configured Vehicle (CCV) in the Advanced Fighter Technology Integration (AFTI) program. It was displayed at Edwards AFB on October 23, 1982. It participated in the Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) project. Later, it tested the Automated Maneuvering Attack System and several other technology development projects.
AFTI YF-16A 75-0750 was retired on January 9, 2001.
The third YF-16A 75-0747 was modified with a stretched fuselage, a cranked-arrow delta wing, and a two-place cockpit and designated F-16XL/B. It was displayed at Edwards AFB on October 30, 1983.
F-16XL/B 75-0747 was later transferred to NASA as 848.
